The Impractical Jokers’ Drive Drive Drive Drive Drive Tour Makes A Stop In DC

New Tour. New Material. No Mustache.

Date: February 19th, 2023

Venue: Capital One Arena

Washington, DC

“WARNING: THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM CONTAINS SCENES OF GRAPHIC STUPIDITY AMONG FOUR LIFELONG FRIENDS WHO COMPETE TO EMBARRASS EACH OTHER”

That introduction above is what grabbed viewers’ attention since the show first debuted over a decade ago on truTV and ever since then these friends have grown a massive fanbase all because they put their true and genuine friendship in front of the cameras as they competed against each other to embarrass one another. This is no ordinary prank show though as the unsuspecting bystanders aren’t the target of these wild challenges, it’s each of the jokers.

Originally forming at The Tenderloins back in 1999, the fans know the Impractical Jokers as Joe Gatto, James “Murr” Murray, Sal Vulcano, and Brian “Q” Quinn. All students at the same high school in Staten Island, NY, they’ve created a bond so strong it allows them to torture each other in the most hilarious ways while still being able to maintain a sense of trust and camaraderie on and off the screen. Now going into their 10th season on television, they are going bigger and better than ever. While Joe has taken the time to focus on his kids and family and may no longer be a part of the show, you can still see him on occasion as he tours with his own personal live comedy show throughout the year. Meanwhile, the other three have set off on a tour that will span across the next two years and we had the opportunity to join the boys toward the beginning of the tour in Washington, D.C.

What’s up everyone, it’s Derek here! I’ve been a fan of Impractical Jokers ever since season one and was super excited when I learned the Drive Drive Drive Drive Drive Tour (named after a punishment Q had to endure in season 9) was visiting D.C. and knew I had to be there. I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing an Impractical Jokers live show a few times throughout the years and it’s always a blast as the guys are ultimately themselves, no scripts, just pure humor. Some may describe it as improv but make no mistakes, these aren’t skits. While, yes there are certain games or bits they play on TV, everything is entirely based on a stranger’s reaction and each joker’s personal limits.

This all carries over to the live show where you never know what to expect based on the audience’s reaction. Along the way, they share stories with fans that you’ll never see on TV and bring you behind the scenes of some of the most memorable punishments or bits throughout the years. You’ll learn a bit of a “shocking” story about Sal’s two Jaden Smith tattoos, hear about a few press mishaps that have occurred that may or may not have cost them some ad partnerships, and maybe if you’re lucky you’ll listen to the beautiful story of Murr’s wedding that was in one word… “smashing.”
