Prepare To Be “Paralyzed” From Falling Through April’s Brand New Single

Shutter 16 Chats With Lead Vocalist Mikaela Peña

After a tough year full of cancellations and what-ifs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the music industry is roaring back to life with live shows and a ton of great music releases. Leading the charge is Charlotte area rock band Falling Through April. Tomorrow they will officially release their long-awaited single “Paralyzed” and it is going to knock you out of your seat, perhaps literally so you better hold on and enjoy the ride.

The band has always had the incredible ability to keep its listeners guessing, mixing in a myriad of styles and genres that run the gamut from hard rock to softer pop and everything in between. In this respect, “Paralyzed” does not disappoint. The opening acoustic guitar strums quickly give way to a driving riff and thundering beat before pulling back as the elegant vocals of Mikaela Peña take over finally reaching the pivotal climax of the chorus where it becomes clear that she is in complete control even as she sings “I’m less than whole, I’m out of control.” The song packs a serious punch and definitely hits harder than anything Falling Through April has ever done. I’m totally loving the dichotomy between the pulverizing aggression and the beauty of the melody. It’s a fantastic track, blistering and majestic at the same time. Be sure and add this one to your playlist. You can thank me later.  If you pre-order the track now, before the release date of July 9, you can get a chance to win a signed guitar from the band. Check out their Facebook page for all the details.

And if live music is your thing, and let’s face it, we are all itching for concerts, Falling Through April will be hitting the road next week for a string of dates that kicks off in Wisconsin at the huge music festival Rock Fest.  You’ll have plenty of opportunities to check them out in person including a date in their hometown of Charlotte on July 22nd at Amos’ Southend and at the inaugural Rebel Rock Festival in Orlando this coming September.
