JJ Grey & Mofro will be @ Oshkosh’s Waterfest on 08/19/21, will you?

It still looks like JJ Grey & Mofro are making one Wisconsin stop in 2021 since we did not see them added to the Summerfest lineup for September or a 2021 date at Milwaukee’s Turner Hall, which is precisely why fans need to head up to Oshkosh on 08/19!

What’s Waterfest?
A summer celebration of the quality of life in the Fox Valley, which includes summer concert season at Leach Amphitheater, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.  Leach Amphitheater, an outdoor venue, is off the Fox River and there’s a river walk that runs from there to the UW Oshkosh campus.  There is even an area in the river for boats to dock and enjoy listening to the music. Leach Amphitheater holds up to 7,500 people per show. In fine Wisconsin fashion, many people get to the venue early to tailgate so they can get a great spot inside the venue, especially VIP ticket holders.

What has JJ Grey & Mofro been up to?
I have been patiently waiting for word on a new album since I last spoke with JJ Grey in 2017 and that is what I will be listening for during the show, including if we will hear any new songs which might be on his next album. It really seems like we should be hearing something before the end of the year if he doesn’t talk about this during the show, because his most recent release was ‘Ol’ Glory,’ and that was in 2015.

JJ Grey & Mofro have had several tour dates with Blues Traveler and reviews are great!

New merchandise has been added including releasing ‘Blackwater’ on vinyl. That appears to be sold out on the website, at least at the time of my writing.

What can we expect?
JJ Grey & Mofro like to shake things up, which is why their setlists change from show to show. We may hear “Orange Blossoms” and “Lochloosa” or “Brighter Days” and “The Sun Is Shining Down” and hopefully “Ho Cakes.” We can expect his incredible soulful singing, storytelling, and a fantastic band, which includes Craig Barnette (drums), Dennis Marion (trumpet), and Todd Smallie (bass).

Let’s hope everyone stays healthy, there are no cancelations, and the weather cooperates, so we can have our souls nourished by JJ Grey & Mofro!
