Exclusive Artist Interview: Patrick Davis
Singer-Songwriter Chats About Latest Single “Six String Dreams” And Upcoming Album
Between growing up with a guitar-playing father and pursuing his own career as a singer and songwriter, Patrick Davis’s life has been full of “Six String Dreams” in different ways. His latest single is a bluesy-rock vibe that pays homage to all the weekend warriors who have come and gone, not to mention his father. Like all of Patrick’s tunes, the song takes you on a journey, letting the story unfold with each breath of his voice and each note of his guitar, a musical movie if you will. The song is a preview of his fifth full-length album Carolina When I Die which is due to be released later this year.
In addition to writing and performing his own music, Davis is a masterful songwriter for other musicians. His songwriting credits are like a who’s who of world-class musicians running the gamut from Darius Rucker and Morgan Wallen to Guy Clark and Jimmy Buffett. And if that isn’t enough to keep one man busy, Patrick also finds time to organize the annual Songwriters In Paradise music festivals. A true road warrior, Patrick is on tour again, bringing his 11-piece band. You can catch Patrick Davis and His Midnight Choir tonight right here in Charlotte at the Visulite Theatre.
Shutter 16 Magazine had the opportunity to chat with Patrick and catch up on his new single and upcoming album as well as his current tour and this year’s Songwriters in Paradise dates. You can listen to our interview in full below.
