Exclusive Artist Interview: Little Hurt
Alt. Pop Artist Chats About New Album Lovely Hours
After over a decade of recording and touring with the internationally acclaimed band The Mowgli’s, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Colin Dieden amicably parted ways with his friends and bandmates to pursue a solo career. Taking his name from his childhood nickname on the baseball diamonds of Kansas City, Little Hurt was born. Telling his own story for the first time, Little Hurt was able to tackle heavy subjects including his own struggles with anxiety, and come into his own as an artist.
Little Hurt has just released his newest album Lovely Hours, ten tracks of solid songwriting accompanied by a plethora of musical nuances from bouncing beats and soothing vocals to jangly guitars and electronic flourishes. If you haven’t heard of Little Hurt yet, you will soon with this record planting firmly at the top of the indie rock and alternative pop game.
Shutter 16 Magazine had the chance to chat with Little Hurt and get his personal insights about Lovely Hours. Please join us as we discuss the new album, if he really likes pineapple on his pizza, and much to the dismay of my Bills Mafia heart, the dominance of the Kansas City Chiefs.
