Exclusive Artist Interview: CINDERS
Indie Pop Band Is Back and Better Than Ever
It’s been a few years since we’ve heard any new music from CINDERS but the wait is finally over. The new EP Going Nowhere is out now and it is quite simply spectacular. The four-song release showcases the very best of what CINDERS has to offer. With well-crafted, honest songs that are easily relatable, solid musicianship, and infectious melodies, Going Nowhere is sure to have the band going somewhere, and that somewhere is up.
From the anthemic title track to the grooving bass lines of “Nail Salon” CINDERS is making pop music new and exciting again. They have a little something for everyone as the band makes a statement about social media and mental health with “Gold Pearl” and will have you dancing around on the upbeat “Don’t Wait Up.”
“New CINDERS for your ears,” exclaims CINDERS. “The Going Nowhere EP is a representation of our most honest, vulnerable, and genuine selves. From having zero expectations but the highest of hopes, to the complexities of being loved, when you don’t fully love yourself. We hope each one of you can connect with the songs, or at least the energy behind them.”
Shutter 16 Magazine had the opportunity to chat with vocalist and guitarist Montana Smith and drummer Brad Bennett about the new EP and get the inside scoop on CINDERS. Please join us below to watch the whole interview.
