Exclusive Artist Interview: Dorothy
Rock Vocalist Talks Music, Tours, and Boxing as “Black Sheep” Continues Climbing The Charts
Hot off the heels of her latest record Gifts From The Holy Ghost and a direct support role on Dirty Honey’s California Dreamin’ Tour, Dorothy Martin continues to lead her band Dorothy to the top. The powerhouse singer packs one hell of a punch, both literally and figuratively, with her dynamic vocals and her passion for boxing. Dorothy’s latest single “Black Sheep” is currently in the Top 15 on Active Rock Radio and by the time you read this, will probably crack the Top 10, making her the only female artist in that position right now. The music video for the song is already a fan favorite, shot in a real boxing gym, incorporating her love of boxing with her love of music, truly the best of both worlds.
If that weren’t enough, Dorothy also released a haunting live cover of the Eurhythmics’ hit song “Sweet Dreams,” ahead of the band’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They’ve been playing it on their recent tour and it’s quite unlike any version of the song you’ve ever heard. They have a great live sound that captures their energy and really exemplifies the rawness and grit that is so great about rock and roll. With the promise of new music coming soon, 2023 looks to be another fantastic year for Dorothy as the band continues to rise to the top of the rock world.
We had the wonderful opportunity to chat with Dorothy and get caught up on everything the band has going on. Please joins us as we chat about tours, music, boxing, and more.
