Shady is wildin’ out, and completely blindsiding the entire world… again. This morning at 12:01am EST, he dropped his tenth album, Kamikaze, a 13-track assault album streaming in full via all major streaming platforms. This is a follow-up to 2017’s Revival, an album that most everyone ripped apart as a cheezy bout of diarrhea-at-the-mouth with too many kitch-duets and not enough heart.
Kamikaze is here to blow you away.
With this new spin, I think he took the feedback and realized it was time to get back to the Em’Shady the entire world fell in love with. That rat bastard. The artist is known for saying all the darkest thoughts, the ones that are usually trapped in the back of your head where only your inner voice will spit.
Most woke to a simple tweet from the 45-year-old rapper: “I tried not 2 overthink this 1 … enjoy.”
He should have just shouted one of the most poignant lyric on Kamikaze –
“Welcome to the slaughterhouse – b*tch!”
He slashes and hits anyone featured on a rap Spotify playlist as he digs into all realms he dislikes; The President, Mike Pence, media journalists, MTV stars Charlemagne and face-tatted rappers, Lil Xan, and a major shout and rip about the mumble auto-tune asshats in the opening jam ”The Ringer”. While he is shredding them, he at least has a little empathy towards Lil Yachty’s popularity; it’s just not his jam. As the track unfolds it’s hard to disagree.
I love that the music business has changed so much that an artist like Eminem can drop an album with no warning and make huge waves and get everyone talking and rushing to hear it. – Staffer, Jeff Hahne.
Another track “Greatest” is an insane machine gun-of-the-mouth with his infamous speed rapping that many have attempted to emulate but never quite got to the level. We find a mix of miracle craziness – “wake up to honkies trying to sound like me – not gonna happen” – and some self deprecation – “Normal”. The track that could have been left on the cutting room floor came from yet another stream of conscious about his wretched on again – off again wife Kim and other screwed up relationships. Another ballad, another murder fantasy, another pilled out struggle. We’ve heard it before – we’ll hear it again. If there is any weakness to the album it’s this track. It is just best to skip.

Yes, yes he did, and damn is it epic. If you’ve ever had to be stuck in the room with a teenage girl listening to the “lyrical genius queen”, who was once famous for her tagline Cash me outside, Bhad Bhabie, you’d possibly know the song being referred, “Hi Bich.” It’s pretty iconic to straight take booms and shred the artist’s apart over their own beats.
Kamikaze, along with Revival, comprise his best work since 1st Marshall Mathers LP. Political, social and, we wouldn’t have Eminem any other way, offensive as hell. Yeah, this rap absolutely rocks. – Staffer, Andy Frisk.
“Not Alike” is tearing apart all of the mumble rappers and using their own lyrics against them. It’s nice to see Eminem is back to his roots. Even if it’s still laced with homophobic slurs and violence, he’s coming from a different era where it wasn’t outrage to these words. You didn’t assume someone a homophobe when slinging a lyric. He openly has been quoted that he has no problem with anyone’s race, gender, or sexual preference. He paved ways for young rappers all over, set some straight on Kamikaze, and any left still standing or not smoking from the amazing amount of fire he just spit should tune in. Many try to imitate his cadence but can’t quite get there without sounding clunky or like a target for his next track.

Spotlights from this album tracks “The Ringer”, “Fall”, and “Not Alike”. He takes aim at Machine Gun Kelly, Drake, Lil Xan, Lil Pump, Joe Budden, Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Akademiks, Tyler, The Creator, and more. Although he’s long been known for his confrontational style, the sheer number of artists he disses has reached momentous proportions. Shady goes hard on mumble rappers but at least eases up a bit on Lil Boat.
The Lyric: “I can see why people like Lil Yachty, but not me though/Not even dissin’, it just ain’t for me”
Lil Xan & Lil Pump:
On Kamikaze’s opening track “The Ringer,” Eminem accuses both Xan and Pump of copying Lil Wayne’s style.
The Lyric: “Lil Pump, Lil Xan imitate Lil Wayne, I should aim at everybody in the game, pick a name
“What I’ll never be is flawless, all I’ll ever be is honest”
Charlamagne Tha God:
His first “The Ringer” diss at radio personality Charlamagne Tha God is fairly slight.
The Lyric: “Aw, Man! That BET cypher was weak, it was garbage The Thing ain’t even orange- oh my God, that’s a reach!”
Shady then directly name-blasts Charlemagne:
The Lyric #2: “Charlamagne gonna hate anyway
Doesn’t matter what I say
Give me Donkey of the Day
What a way for 2018 to get underway”
The President:
It’s no secret he’s not a fan of the Trump; it’s kind of fun to find out the feeling is mutual. But I’d be hard pressed to not address: is this really how we are spending our tax money?
The Lyric: “Cause Agent Orange just sent the Secret Service
To meet in person to see if I really think of hurtin’ him
Or ask if I’m linked to terrorists”
Track: “Not Alike”
Going all in for mumble rappers-alike. This track is a bit more direct with attacking the lyrical stylings than than the actual person.
Migos & Bhad Bhabie:
Hazy shades of Migos? “Not Alike” lends Eminem mimicking Offset’s flow from “Bad and Boujee” while rapping nonsensical lyrics: overtop of a Bhad Bhabie track “Hi Bich” that fans are not overlooking.
The Lyrics: “Brain dead, eye drops
Pain meds, cyclops
They bed, iPod
Maybach, my bach
Trainwrecks, sidewalks
Pay less, high-tops
K-Fed, iHop
Playtex, ice spots
However, it’s also worth noting that he seems to call them influential on “Fall”:

Machine Gun Kelly:
The back-story some might not know is the duo have beef from that one time Kelly was being all pedo-like and called Em’s 16 year old daughter “Hot as fuck.”
The Lyric: “But next time you don’t gotta use Tech N9ne
If you wanna come at me with a sub-machine gun
And I’m talkin’ to you, but you already know who the fuck you are, Kelly
I don’t use sublims and sure as fuck don’t sneak-diss
But keep commentin’ on my daughter Hailie”
Tyler, the Creator:
Perhaps most charged diss, Eminem slams Tyler, with a homophobic slur about the rapper’s sexuality mainly for using it as a tool to get more album sales. His first two albums were judged hard for his use of such words, so it seems in light of that Em censored the word “faggot” on “The Fall,” but his intent is still clear:
The Lyrics: “Tyler create nothin’, I see why you called yourself a ******, bitch
It’s not just ‘cause you lack attention
It’s ’cause you worship D12’s balls, you’re sack-rilegious
If you’re gonna critique me, you better at least be as good or better, get Earl the Hooded Sweater

Charlamagne Tha God (again!)
Slam two comes in hot – against the radio personality and TV host “Catfish the TV Show – Trolls”
The Lyric: “You’d swear to God I’ve forgot I’m the guy that made “Not Afraid”/One last time for Charlemagne/If my response is late, it’s just how long it takes/To hit my fuckin’ radar, I’m so far away”
Joe Budden:
Slaughterhouse label mate, rapper and broadcaster Budden was once a great Shady supporter but went on the record calling 2017’s Revival track “Untouchable” a piece of trash. Strange to rag on your boss so hard. Since then they’ve had beef. Eminem hits below the belt bring up Budden’s 2014 domestic violence charges.
The Lyrics: “Somebody tell Budden before I snap, he better fasten it/Or have his body baggage zipped/The closest thing he’s had to hits is smacking bitches”
DJ Akademiks:
Joe Budden’s previous Everyday Struggle co-host is also in the hotseat because of his own commentary about Revival.
The Lyrics: “And don’t make me have to give it back to Akademiks
Say this shit is trash again, I’ll have you twisted
Like you had it when you thought you had me slippin’ at the telly
Even when I’m gettin’ brain, you’ll never catch me with a thot”

Drake:
It’s well known ghostwriting and Slim do not mix, and it is part of what is wrong with pop music and getting numbers when you didn’t create the product yourself. Did we think he would be quiet on this?
The Lyric: “You got some views, but you’re still below me
Mine are higher, so when you compare our views, you get overlooked
And I don’t say the hook unless I wrote the hook
And now I’m just freestylin’ in the vocal booth
And you know I’ve always spoke the truth”

*Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon is not impressed with his collaboration on the album in the track “Fall”… that was not recorded with Em.
